About Us

History of the FRER Foundation

The FRER Foundation was established in April 1998 in response to the urgent needs of rejected and impoverished children. Since its inception, the foundation has been dedicated to improving the lives of these children by focusing on several core areas: protection, health, education, nutrition, and spiritual growth.

FRER’s mission is rooted in the belief that every child deserves safety and support. The foundation has developed programs aimed at ensuring the protection of children by providing them with a warm and welcoming environment. This includes measures to safeguard them from abuse and help them rebuild their confidence.

Children’s health is a top priority. FRER has implemented initiatives to ensure adequate access to medical care and regular health monitoring. Teams of healthcare professionals collaborate with the foundation to deliver medical and psychological services, ensuring that each child receives the care necessary for their well-being.

Education is also central to the foundation’s mission. FRER strives to provide children with quality education, equipping them with the tools needed to learn and grow. Tailored educational programs are offered, allowing children to develop their skills and envision a promising future.

Nutrition, a fundamental aspect of development, is an integral part of FRER’s efforts. The foundation works to ensure that every child has access to a healthy, balanced diet. Awareness initiatives are also in place to help families adopt healthy eating practices.

Spiritual growth is an essential component of FRER’s support. Through activities and workshops, children are encouraged to develop values such as solidarity, respect, and empathy, fostering their personal growth and social integration.

By welcoming disadvantaged children, FRER has created a lasting support system where each child can rebuild and find their place. Its holistic approach, focused on listening and empathy, has fostered trust with families, facilitating long-term assistance.

Today, FRER is recognized for its dedication to children and families in need. Through its hard work and passion, the foundation continues to transform lives, offering children the opportunity to grow in an environment conducive to their development, while opening doors to a better future.

At FRER, we are steadfast in our belief in a world where every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity to grow in an environment that ensures their safety, love, and access to educational opportunities.

Our Mission...

Our mission is to make this vision a reality by dedicating ourselves to the lives of underprivileged children.

Recognizing education as a powerful catalyst for change, we implement programs tailored to the specific educational needs of each child while supporting their emotional and social development.

Introducing the CEO of FRER

Lucette Cadet, founder and CEO of the Foundation for the Rehabilitation of Rejected Children (FRER), previously served as Director of the Women's and Minors’ Incarceration Center in Port-au-Prince. During her tenure, she witnessed the profound suffering of vulnerable children and women in detention. Recognizing the shortcomings of the prison system, she established FRER to break the cycle of delinquency among youth. Her holistic approach focuses on education, psychological support, and artistic and sports activities, providing transformative opportunities for Haiti's marginalized children. Through her unwavering dedication, Lucette Cadet continues to change lives and offer second chances to the rejected youth of Haiti.
